PVD, or physical vapor deposition, is a coating process that is carried out in a vacuum that produces durable coatings finishes designed to reduce wear, improve lubricity, and reduce corrosion. VTIs coating technologies are clean and safe for the environment.
VTI uses Cathodic Arc and sputtering to produce tribological coatings. The process is conducted in a vacuum chamber, while the substrate is rotated and biased to ensure even coverage. The surface of metal targets are vaporized generating an ion plasma that is reacted with a recipe gas.
